My Frst Day
Well last night in the rain was a long story, and I'm not sure that I have what it takes to write about it tonight. The rain was coming down so hard that I ended up missing my turn and going up a driveway when I thought I was taking a second entrance to my development. And that driveway had no good place to turn around, and I do not back the trailer well. JT had his phone ringer turned off. Chris Vallone and his son came at a point when I'd done a lot to extricate myself but not enough (and was at my wits end). I am so grateful for their help. And along with the rest of the kerfuffle, one of the lights stopped working properly..The wiring seems to be working, and maybe it was the light that somehow blew. It lit up faintly but not brightly.
So with one thing and another I didn't leave until 7 from Lowe's where we bought but did not yet install a replacement light.
The drive went smoothly but took a lot longer than I quite anticipated. It was supposed to take 8 hours. I pulled in at the American Winery and Brewery at 6:15. But I'm here and snuggled up in my camper. There's a huge American Flag flying over me, but I don't want to open up the camper to take a picture, and let the cold air in. Maybe I will manage a picture tomorrow morning if it's still up when I leave. I can hear it flapping above me, so they haven's taken it down yet.
This winery makes things like pineapple wine and lemon wine, as well as ordinary wine. I bought some for gifts, and had a good talk with the woman who checked me in.
Saw orchards in bloom in central PA, and some gorgeous views across valleys. Here in norther Ohio, there are big orchards but they are not blooming yet. One disadvantage to driving solo is not being able to take pictures.
I'm in Wauseon, Ohio, about 200 miles from Chicago according to the road signs. I have a 1:30 appointment tomorrow in Highwood, IL to see the house we are buying.
Well, I didn't promise that this blog would be interesting. I suspect I'm proving it tonight. But it's chilly and I just want to snuggle under the covers and hope that my little bug of a camper stays warm enough.
Blessings, and love to all of you.
